MY TAKE ON THE PARK

Down the Third base Line

Down the first base line - Yankee Stadium

Replacing history is a difficult undertaking so when the Yankees announced a new ballpark a few years ago, one had to wonder if the new
place could make one forget the old. I think they did it.
Located right across the street from the "old" Stadium, Yankee Stadium offers a destination as well as a ballpark. The Hard Rock Cafe as well as a Steak House offer fans and non fans a place to go before after or on a non game day.

The seats in the lower level at "The Stadium"

Once past the ticket taker, a greeter welcomes you to the new ballpark, a nice friendly touch. Walking out onto the concourse, you see it. The emerald green field surrounded by a sea of navy blue seats. The
concourse area is huge with plenty of room for concessions complete with High Definition Televisions all over the area. The concourse runs around the park, never losing a view of the field except in the outfield area.
Like Cincinnati, you walk through a cement tunnel through the center field area, you will need this route to get to Monument Park.

Moving the upper deck, the another spacious concourse which runs from foul pole to foul pole offering concessions, views of the field, and televisions throughout.
The draw back to the spacious concourses is the upper deck is a little higher than most. Unlike the "old" stadium, it isn't as steep here.

A right field view of the Stadium

The game is handled here perfectly. The scoreboard updates quickly, the main video board is the clearest picture I've ever seen, and everything said in the park is closed captioned.
The out of town board is next to the main board with rolling scores. I'll never understand why the Yankees don't want to keep out of town scores up for the whole game.
The line score in the outfield wall is excellent. Hard to believe the Yankees are the team that keep the line scores up for the whole game.

What better sight in baseball?

The actual picture is clearer than this!!

Yankee Stadium is a great place for a game, but it seems I am one of the last of the stay in my seat and keep a scorecard.
On a trip to the concession there is a whole group of people watching the game and enjoying the Yankee concessions. The food court, the porch in center field, and the rail behind lower lever, all places for fans to get a good view of the game and enjoy.
